To mark Staffing for Canada Week, ACSESS invited its members’ candidates and field workers to enter an ‘Exceptional Experience Contest’ and share their experience via writing or video.

“Our members’ professionalism and attention to candidates’ needs and preferences is reflected in the submissions received from throughout Canada,” says McIninch. “I’m pleased to congratulate all of the winners.

Our first place winner Mohammad Aman Mirza made the decision in October to relocate to Ontario, fully aware of the challenges posed by the prevailing recession and inflation. However, upon arriving, he encountered a significant obstacle— unable to secure employment, despite actively searching for over a month. This situation filled me with worry and uncertainty as I struggled to find suitable job opportunities. This temporary assignment proved to be a significant turning point in my journey. I immersed myself in the role, leveraging my skills and demonstrating my dedication to the work. The company recognized my efforts, and to my delight, extended an offer letter for a permanent position within their organization.

I attribute this incredible achievement entirely to the invaluable support and guidance provided by Adecco. Their unwavering commitment to connecting job seekers with employment opportunities played an instrumental role in propelling my career forward. Read more

Second place winner Ritchel John A. Leonora came from Dubai, which is dubbed as one of the major International Business Hubs in the world.

Despite my extensive experiences in the fields of construction, professional training and consultancy, and finance industry working as admin, training coordinator, and sales operations, I am afraid that I will be one of those recent immigrants to Canada who is about to settle for less. Kristen (ACSESS Member firm - Employment Network Canada Inc.) took the chance on me. I was assured that she will help me find a job based on my skill set and professional profile. After the interview, she emailed my resume to numerous organizations searching for temporary workers. I can clearly remember her asking me over the weekend if I would be interested in taking on a temporary job with the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce as Sr. Administrative Assistant. Read more

Third place winner Jaclyn Dryden with Staffmax noted when Marnie Tod reached out to Jaclyn in the Fall of 2022 with an employment opportunity, which aligned with my educational background, she was at a bit of a crossroads, in terms of her career path…

My new position is much more aligned with my career goals and even allows me to use my mathematics background, which I thoroughly enjoy. I am surrounded by an incredibly knowledgeable and supportive team, which has done wonders for my mental health. I am feeling more positive and confident in my role and in my skills, in general. I consider myself very lucky to be working in such a positive environment, surrounded by such an amazing team. Read more
