Holiday Greeting

On behalf of all of us at ACSESS, I want to wish you, your family, and your teams a very happy Holiday Season and wish you good health, joy, and much success in 2022.

With the challenges, businesses have faced over the last two years your continued support and a renewed commitment to work together "In Leading Canada to Work" is greatly appreciated. ACSESS is proud to have exceeded membership renewal targets, an affirmation of the value of our association and a testament to the work of our staff at the National Office...a big Thank You to them all!

2021 Accomplishments include a strong commitment to developing new revenue streams and enhanced value-added services that benefit our members and key stakeholders. Increased virtual educational opportunities and an outstanding 2-day Virtual Conference drew the highest attendance in ACSESS history. And, continued leadership in the area of advocacy and government relations at the federal and provincial levels, where successes included:

Back to Business During COVID-19: Tools to navigate government programs to save time and costly legal missteps.

Recognition by Ontario's Minister of Labour as a Key Employer Stakeholder on the New Licencing Regime: Throughout the consultation process ACSESS is steadfastly representing our membership and our industry.

Quebec Licencing Act - representing member interests in court: The Legal experts at ACSESS presented a motion to the Superior Court of Quebec to challenge provisions to the Quebec Licencing Act (loi sur les agences de placement).

Demanding the End of Illegal Operations: ACSESS continued to work with provincial governments to secure enforcement measures against staffing firms that operate illegally and client companies that use them.

Safely Back to Work Alliance: ACSESS effectively helped increase public sector support across Canada for Safely Back to Work alliance protocols, and awareness of our industry's important role in economic recovery.

For our members, 20221 was no doubt a mixed bag, in terms of our personal lives and business operations. For some, it was a record year, for others a time to refresh and restructure. I want to again commend all ACSESS members for demonstrating resilience, flexibility and sheer determination in getting people out to work. Your efforts are so fundamental to developing traction in getting our economy back to track.

We look forward to connecting with you at our 2022 Virtual Conference on May 11. Until then, stay safe...celebrate...stay positive!

Ted Maksimowski
ACSESS President
