Summer 2021 – Beginning of Sustained Traction for the Staffing Industry

In this inaugural edition of ACSESS2Work, our quarterly newsletter update on all the areas of our service to you, we hope to provide you with a summary of the key items we are working on, Industry news, and upcoming events.

First let me say again how proud we should all be of the resilience, courage, and success that our industry leaders, recruiters, and support staff have demonstrated despite the challenges of the past 14 months.

The third wave of the pandemic certainly blunted the business pick up that was building at the beginning of this year. Most industry participants I talk to believe the worst is now behind us. Emboldened by the vaccine rollout programs, summer weather, frustration from the many “stay at home orders”, people have a growing confidence and a newfound boldness regarding the future. As usual we in the Staffing Industry feel the pain from a natural or financial economic downturn first and are also the first to experience the recovery.

Industry analysts (SIA) tell us that the Canadian Staffing Industry revenue decreased 14% in 2020, will rebound to increase by 11% in 2021 and continue the trend to another 5% increase in 2022. By 2022 our revenues should be returning to just slightly higher levels than they were in 2019. With cautious optimism, we look forward to the opportunity of helping our clients and the workers we serve, achieve the economic rebound we are all so looking for.

I wish all you and your families a safe, healthy and more prosperous Summer 2021!

Ted Maksimowski
President, ACSESS
